Wed 8/18 4pm - ordered F350 XL SCLB STX 4X2 7.3, 3.73 MSRP $45,510 I got invoice pricing of $43,234
Thu 8/19 5pm - received order confirmation from Ford for the 4X4 VERSION ... returned to dealer to cancel, and resubmit correct order.
Fri 8/.20 - received an email for a $2000 Exclusive Cash Reward from Ford thru a competing dealer .. expiration date 9/30/21, 3 phone calls to Ford and a visit to my dealer, and nobody at the dealership knows how to handle it.
"we have to have a VIN first" then, "have to wait for delivery to close deal, then claim, if still valid" fine print on offer email: "Place order or take new retail delivery from an authorized Ford or Lincoln Dealer’s stock by 9/30/21. See dealer for details. Dealer: Claim in VINCENT using #38204 and customer ID."
Evidently I have wait for an answer from the regional sales manager, .. on Monday.
Not naming names, but it is a NATION wide AUTO dealer network.
I've always bought off the lot, this is my first special order ... not exactly what i had envisioned so far.
Not clear what you mean that you got an ECO thru a competing dealer. They come from Ford directly. If you got one from Ford, your current dealer should see it in VINCENT. If it’s not showing in VINCENT it was a direct offer from that dealer and only good at that dealer. If you have a “real” ECO from Ford they can lock it in once you have ordered.
I would almost guarantee the ECO is from Ford not that other dealer. Ford provides the list of people in their area with an ECO/PCO to the dealer so that they may do their own marketing as well. It’s an easy way to get you to come to their dealership if they are offering you this rebate. In reality the ECO is good at any dealer and if it was valid on your account the day you ordered then it can be locked to your order. I would force the dealers hand to lock in the PCO or walk on the deal and re order at another dealer. There is a thread on here of a dealer in Iowa offering 2% under invoice plus any rebates. It would be worth the trip.
Yes, it is an offer in the Ford system, a different dealer sent the email, and my dealer sees it in the system.
Ford gave me the certification number, amount, and expiration date. The issue is my dealer dancing around and not acting
on it yet. They gave me invoice pricing on my order, but that shouldn’t matter regarding claiming this reward in the VINCENT
system for me. My gut feeling is that I will have to camp out at the dealership until they give in. Going elsewhere here in DFW
doesn’t help, nobody has offered less than MSRP. I’ll know Monday if I need to threaten to walk.
So your dealer screwed up your order, can't figure out how to apply the Ford ECO and offered a lame excuse that it can only be applied at the time of delivery. That would be enough for me to contact the dealer who sent you the ECO email and see if they can match offer from your current dealer. Unless you have reasons for not using the other dealer such as a bad reputation,, I would switch for the right deal.
Edit: Sent my post before I read the OP's post #4. I would not threaten to walk until you have another acceptable place to walk to. The dealer who sent you the email wants your business so they may be willing to deal to get it. Worth a try. Do you have the full out the door price (including all dealer fees) from your current dealer? You will need that to compare to any deal from the other dealer. Dealer's can play games by offering low purchase price and pile on fees at the end.
Edit 2: It is possible your dealer knew about your ECO and applied it to offer you a price at invoice (you wrote no other dealers are offering discounts). Now that you know about the ECO they are scrambling to cover their tracks by saying it can't be applied until delivery which means after it expired. But of course they have already locked it into the order.
I already hit them up last week, because I’ve bought two previous vehicles from them. They wouldn’t go below MSRP.
I can take another run at them, email in hand, if my current deal goes sideways. I was happy with my invoice pricing…
then I got the ECO email, 24hrs later! We’ll see..

If your dealer continues to say the ECO can't be applied to your order then you know something is fishy. They absolutely can as many have posted on this forum. If you have your order number you may be able to find out from Ford Customer Support if your ECO has been applied or you may be able to find out with just the Vincent number. Worth trying to find out before your next contact with your dealer.
The ECO doesn't cost the dealer anything, nothing comes out of their end, all on Ford.
So, no good real reason why they wouldn't apply it to the deal.
There are LOTS of Ford dealers in the DFW area, check with some others.
Go to carprousa.com and get one of their car buyer certificates and then go talk to one of the Sam Pack 5-Star Ford dealerships to see what kind of deal they can do for you.
I'm using one of the carprousa.com dealers down here in the Houston area.

which dealer? I’m having a hard time finding a place within 3 hours of DFW that is discounting

Got this email this am
Mr. Avxxxxx,
Our Ford Rep has committed to send me the process to lock that incentive in on Monday.
thanks! I’m going to hit them up early Monday. I have an offer of $1k under MSRP from 5 star but hoping that McDavid will match jt as I’ve got a $3k warranty refund coming from them that they can apply directly.

I should have an order confirmation from Ford tomorrow (Thursday), I will call Ford to see If, or when they applied my ECO. I suspect your correct, that they intended to apply it when they offered inv. pricing, as nobody else would.
They represented the price on the purchase "order/quote" as a "dealer discount", now they are caught trying to escape applying the ECO I presented them 24 hrs later. Supposedly they're waiting on instructions from their Ford Rep... (totally stalling) hoping Ill drop it. Which I might, I was happy with the deal @ invoice...then the ECO shows up in my inbox.... if they had been up front in the beginning and just told me they were using it to help get to invoice level, I would have been totally fine with it ... now I have to verify everything they tell me. I still need the deal to proceed, so I'm not leaning into them, they could bail on the deal if pushed into a corner. We'll see, should have more info tomorrow.

Personally, I wouldn't let it go. They can sell at invoice and still be plenty in the black. That was underhanded to try and use your ECO without telling you to get to invoice. No reason they can't sell at invoice and still apply the ECO and be in the black because the ECO is Ford Corporate money that they get back.
One of my local dealers couldn't get a build correct with three attempts, so I politely let them know that I wasn't moving forward with them and I was changing dealers. The next dealer spent 20 min on the phone putting in the exact order of my truck, sent me the build and invoice and we were done. So much easier. He also said, he'd keep checking on ECO and apply it if one pops up. I'm unscheduled.
