Could be a number of issues. How's the hinges? Any play or door sag? How's the condition of the roller and pin on the door post? Is the latch mechanism secure in the door?

Also these doors will stay locked when in the locked position open and then shut. Some older vehicles had to be locked with the key. A handy thing that helps you avoid locking the keys inside. The 80-86 trucks don't have that feature. Yes you can lock your keys in the cab!

The door card is easy to remove if you have tools. Looks like that will be your next step.

I'm sure you can ask google to find you a door latch.https://www.google.com/search?q=door...hrome&ie=UTF-8

The sticking may be in the key cylinder. I like to spray Fluid-Film in my key hole regularly. That keeps mine from sticking.

Good to hear you found the cause and should be a easy fix.

As for the mats I was lucky that a local member had a used set of Ford mats that matched my used carpet that a 2nd local member gave me.
I would measure the area and then look around in parts stores and on line for something that might work for you.

Check out these many options. You're bound to find one to your liking

I looked up for my F250 supercab. So adjust the search as needed

You can take a piece of pex 1/2" plastic water pipe, cut it to length, slice it down one side, and slip it over the pin. Works great, lasts a long time and is cheap and easy, no disassembly of the door pin. That's usually all that is wrong, the factory plastic bushing is missing on the pin.
