All.. I need some help and direction. I tried to start my 2k PSD today and all it does is crank. It has always, until today started effortlessly. It was driven yesterday and as always performed flawlessly. Please send me in a direction for items to check… A pump or compressor on the passenger side inner fender does activate when the key is turned on. (What it does is a mystery to me) Yes, it has fuel… Jeff out
I believe there ae 2 different parts no's for the CPS, I have a '95 PSD so make sure they get you the correct one for your year model. Sorry I didn't put this in the first post, mother in law's acura needed emergency surgery.
Well, I purchased and installed the one with the part number from your post. It did not start the truck... Wrong part for a 2000 vs a 1995, possible. I'm still hoping some of the "Big Dogs" will respond. I'm down hard, stuck and S.O.L...!!
Here's my links to part #'s, diagram of location, and how to change it. Yes, there are 2 different part #'s depending on the serial number of your engine. And it's called a CMP Sensor by Ford and CAMP Sensor by International, not "CPS".
Guys…(and ladies) Your not going to believe this one.. I am so frustrated with this truck and frustrated with my personal ignorance of diesel T-Shooting that I can’t sleep. So, at 0330 mountain time, I head to the driveway and prepare to great this problem head on.. I get out the work light, tools, and fire up the coffee pot preparing to dig in. (One more thing, I need to be at work by 0600 ready for a 12 hr shift..LOL) I decide what the heck, I’ll crank it over and see what happens… And you guessed it, the G.D. thing starts right up. Like nothing was ever wrong… In the technical word I be leave this method of T-Shooting is called P.F.M. I don’t know what else to say except thank you all for your suggestions and help… I will keep looking for the root cause problem. Jeff in NM...
