Thump after start?
Quick question guys. What is the loud thump right after startup on the PSD. It doesn't happen at every startup, maybe 2 out of 5. Sounds like somone kicked a tire or something. This seems to be common, 2 of my friends have '02s that do the same thing. I'm not thinking it's a problem, just curious as to what it is.

Probably a heater/ac door closing. They are vacuum controlled and will open/close after start-up. Have some one stand near oass fender at firewall as you start (with hood open) to verify where sound is coming from.

Well, whatever it is...scares the hell-o out of me too. I'm always thinking that I backed into some body and not a vehiclel..a real body! Seems like it always happens to me at a convenience store parking lot..you know, more people than cars.
