Hi I’m new to the Ford forums. I have some questions regarding my 2002 f350 it has 364,765 miles on it. My transmission was being sluggish and sticking straight into overdrive. The overdrive light was flashing before I replaced it. I replaced it with a rebuilt 4r100 from jasper. Put it in got it driving super sluggish and the light is back on for the od. It just flashes. Fresh fluids of course. Motor craft mercon v. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
The flashing OD light means codes have been stored. You must have those codes to fix this. Without the codes, all we can tell you is that something is wrong.
The places that read codes free CANNOT read Ford transmission codes. You need a good independent shop or a Ford dealer. Or if you want to do it yourself, download Forscan at www,forscan.org. It's free. Their page shows how to select an adapter to plug into the OBDII port. I bought mine from Amazon for less than $30.
