Hi, haven't been here for a while.
New problem popped up with my 08 Ranger today. I went to get in, started it up and I had no blower at all, doesn't come on, even on the lowest setting. I checked the fuse, looks Ok. I do notice there is a relay for the blower in the fuse box in the engine compartment, but I don't know how to test this. Any ideas on any common problems with this item? Was working fine yesterday, and today, nothing.
Thanks!
Just did a KOEO and KOER test with my code reader. The KOEO test returned no codes. The KOER test gave me a P1464 "A/C demand out of self test range". Not sure if that is an explanation for my issue, or just something that would come up because I had the a/c switched on during the test.
Actually on second examination, I stand corrected. They're apparently the same relay, one is for the blower, the other is the starter relay. I swapped them, still no blower. But when I put them back the way they were, my blower came back on! No idea if this was a mysterious bad connection, or maybe I jostled a bad relay and now its working again? I think to be safe I'll go down to the parts store and get a new relay tomorrow.
Update:
So it's been intermittent on and off the last few days, very frustrating. Would start out most days with no blower, only to have it suddenly come back on for no apparent reason. Eventually shop diagnosed it as bad blower motor. Replaced it and all seems good now.
