Transmission issues

I have a 2019 f150 it doesn’t do it all the time but sometimes my transmission slams in and out of gear. Or when you first start it when you put in gear it’ll slam. I’ve had back to dealer multiple times over it and they tell me that’s normal. To me that’s not normal at all. So anyone have this problem. If so what did you do. I work with a guy that is having same issue and he said he’s putting a tune on his truck that supposed to keep it from happening but I also don’t want to void a warranty

Supposedly Sport Mode helps to smooth the transmission also.

My 2020 was a bit rough, after 18k miles has gotten much better. Still can slam, or hard **** on occasion.

My 18 would shift a little rough now and then when I first got it. Downshifts were the most noticeable in the lower gears ( 6th and down ) . I'm almost 30,000mi. now and haven't noticed it for quite a while.

Mine does this occasionally. I think I've largely prevented it from happening by ensuring the truck is completely stopped before I change gears, including waiting a second or two to let off the brake when I first shift into drive. I found it most noticeable shifting into reverse when I was pointed down an incline.

Just chiming in and I too have the occasional hard shift while driving. I did find sport mode helped, but that's a pain to remember. Wonder if a transmission relearn would help. Disconnect the battery overnight?

Perhaps changing the fluid and filter will help but, it definitely wouldn’t hurt.

I'm pretty sure my trans fluid isn't dirty after only 8700 miles.

Saw somewhere, I think You Tube, a guy had the same problem. A drivability tech finally looked at his truck. Went in and turned off adaptive tuning for the transmission. He said the results were night and day. Truck never shifted bad after that.

I just bought a 2018 with 38k miles and my truck does the same thing. I asked the service manager at the dealer and he said it's a known issue but Ford doesn't have a solution. He said that you can reset a module in the trans and it'll go away for a while but always comes back. I have an appointment in a few weeks and hope the tech can reset it for me.

Ummmm, where did you get the 8700 miles figure from because I see no mention of the mileage in the OP’s original posting.

True, OP didn't mention how many miles on his 2019, and I didn't mention it for my post about my 2020. Was probably having a bad day that day, forgive me. Anyway, don't think it's due to dirty fluid on my truck, which has only 8700 miles on it. Changing the fluid, for me, would be another version of "throwing parts at it", which I think we all try to avoid.

My 2018 started harsh downshifts when coming to a stop when cold and would smooth out when warm. Took it to the dealer and they found out it was 1 and a half liters down on tranny fluid. They reflashed tranny topped up fluid and all is good again.

GS550, Did the dealership say where the fluid went? Or was it just low always? Did you see any leaks? (I guessing you didn't) just seems strange to me that it was low on fluid.
Thanks
