I’m getting ready to drop my oil pan and remove the intake manifold. While they’re off I want to paint them to match the old color, can anyone tell me if this is a Ford color and what color it is?
I bought some classic Ford blue POR15 engine paint and it’s nothing like this color. My other thought is to go ahead with this paint just do the entire engine, or possibly another color.
Oil pan is modern Ford blue.
The Por 15 is the old flathead blue
ahhh…that’s a big help. That explains 2 things…1) the engine is the wrong color and B) it’s likely that it’s been rebuilt, or at least repainted at some time.
I’m going to stick with the old flathead blue. Nothing except the pan and heads are painted so easy, I’ll just repaint them and paint the rest.
That New Ford Blue looks good to me! Neither blue is correct for our trucks.
Yeah, that looks great.
Looking closely at the intake manifold I can see a few spots of green. Since none of my truck is original or correct colors, I’m just gonna pick what looks good to me.
