Your hood and emblem is correct for a 52 6 cylinder truck. The header panel below the hood on your truck is from a 51. That was the only year of the series 48-52 that didn't use the Ford letters across the front. They were plain on 6 cylinder trucks and had the V8 emblem when appropriate. The 52 below is what yours should look like.

Fellas, since it's been said his truck has a 51 header panel, could he not drill holes in it for the FORD letters, which are reproduced.
Absolutely. He's have to weld up the V8 emblem holes and repaint, but that's all there is to it, besides figuring out the correct letter spacing, etc. The alternative is to find a 52 header, since it is different from the 48-50.
Have a '52 header panel in primo condition . The 6 cyl. emblem was used on the flat 6 & 1st yr. in truck OHV 6 . Guy in S. Fla has an excellent condition one .Not me . He lives in Miami Gardens . Acquired some parts from him & am getting more when they become available .
Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware. Explains why I couldn't find much information before I came here. The 7RC-5340 rear hangers for the front springs are apparently made from that same material. Taking them to a machine shop tomorrow afternoon to see if they can weld and true up the 5/8" holes for the pins. Not sure why they didn't put bushings in these like they did the front hangers.
Plenty to do so I'll probably leave the header panel for now as a conversation piece.
