1990 F150 Dash Fix/replacement
I Have a 1990 F150 xlt lariat. The Dash in these are plastic so repairing it is very hard. My current situation is the inside where everything screws down (AC Controls, Radio, etc...) is broken. There is no support for the ac controls and the screw holes are broken off the dash itself so i cant screw it down. The IP Trim screw holes have also broken off so i cant screw down the Trim. I would like to get it repaired or replace it myself but im afraid of getting a used dash and it doing the same thing. I'm not apposed to putting a slightly newer (1992-1996) dash in it or a slightly older (1982-1986) Dash if it is going to last. I also dont mind repairing it myself, but im not sure if its worth the hassle. I am looking for suggestions. I can provide pictures if needed.
Thanks

You can do a lot with a piece of plastic (or even metal) and some JB Weld. If something screws into the plastic, put a piece of sheet metal behind the area and JB Weld it in place. Then, drill a new hole and you have a more sturdy and reinforced area.
Some of the guys over on the 1972 - 1979 forum have used JB Weld to put their plastic door panels back together. The connector tabs on the back will break off due to the metal pieces that snap into the door.
Good luck!
