help me settle this
guys, i'm sure this sounds stupid, but i need objective opinions to win this argument
if a 79 ford 4x4 f150, long bed 400M, 4barrel big tires, and an 85 chevy 2 wheel drive, short bed, 305 4 barrel, were chained together who would win?
or i should say, how bad would the ford beat the pants off the chevy, and would it hurt it bad enough to break it?

I'm almost positive you will win for the simple fact that its got the extra weight/traction of 4x4. I think as soon as he starts to give it gas he'll spin his tires completely loosing traction. If you want to break it, leave a little slack in the chain, put it in 4 Low, and put your foot through the floor, his truck is more than likely to have something break...

I think you will take him no matter if you use 4x4 or not. All you had to say was he has a 305 and that settles it right there. Quite possibly one of Chevies worst motors. The only chance he would have is if he has 4.10's or lower gears and you have 3.55's or higher. Expect the chevy to break if you do it. Just my thought.
