Replace incandescent taillights?

I prefer the look, brightness, and quick flashing of LED taillights. But if I have to add the additional step of a load resistor behind the fixture it’s probably not worth it. Does anyone know if I can simply replace the bulbs on my 2019 XL STX or will that cause the flasher to hyper-blink?

Thinking about these bulbs, in red:

Thanks for any help!

My experience in our 2017 was the replacement LED bulbs in the tail lamps caused the dash signals and sounds to hyperblink, but not the lamps themselves. I used FORscan to reprogram for LED lamps and all was fine.

I’ve not yet converted our 2019.

I have replaced almost all my lights with LEDs from this company: https://www.lasfit.com. they have been great and I have not had any problems. They have all been direct bulb replacements no other work. I do not currently drive a super duty so don't know how they perform in one,

Are you sure you want LED lights living in snow country? They do not produce the heat the incandescents do. Good chance you they will be covered in snow and ice on wintery days and all the extra brightness will be for naught.

that’s a really good point I hadn’t considered. I wonder if that why so many vehicles, like our 2021 Honda Odyssey, come with Led headlights but the taillights are still incandescent 🤔

I switched my '17 Lariat's incandescent to LEDs all around using, Alla and Beamltech headlights/fogs. FORSCAN settings will prevent hyperflash indications in dash. It has been about 3 months and no issues thus far. Beamtech bulbs required no reaiming (made marks on garage during install).

In some cases manufacturers are heating the housings solving the problem but fitting LED bulbs in your taillights that were not originally manufactured for them could be problematic. I skipped the admittedly cool looking LED lighting package for my wifes Jeep after seeing headlight housings pretty well frozen solid. The headlights are recessed in the grill and the LED versions fill up and freeze over. I tried LED back up lights in my truck for plowing, that backfired on me, they are worthless... Nice in the summer but that isn't really what i bought them for.

I agree. While I love how LED looks they are a major pain in the winter.

Replaced mine in my tail lights, hyperblinks on the dash but the lights are the normal interval. You just have to remember to look to see if one is out periodically.
