I didn't get a bill of sale nor does the title have that info on a vehicle over 100000 miles. I bought the truck knowing that the display was bad but everything checked out for what I bought the truck for. I bought it to hunt out of and run to town and back on the weekends when needed. Cash deal and a handshake (We still do that in Mississippi). The guy I bought it from told me the display never worked for him but he had not owned the truck very long either. I have no idea if the engine was replaced but I doubt it unless it was a while ago. It's a 22-year-old truck that seems to be in decent shape and fits the bill I bought it for. I was just surprised when the odometer showed 433000 miles, I was thinking 250000 or so in my mind. Thanks for the additional info on the 99 engine, I think I'm just gonna drive it like it is and if it gives trouble I will make a decision on what to do with it depending on the severity of the trouble.
When the engine goes bad (not anytime soon I hope) the best rebuild online rebuild long block people I have used was powertrain with their 5 years warranty and unlimited miles. Their price was around $2,700.00 to me here in Florida and then send the core back to them and they pay for that. Have put over 5 of these engines in different people's trucks and they all like them and one guy I know has over 200,000 miles on his. Changed his oil pump (they put the high-pressure oil pumps in their engine rebuild too) and timing gears a few months back and it is still going strong.
Don't know what type of hunting you do, but we use these older trucks for deer hunting here with dogs and they take a beating. (The trucks that is and not the dogs so much).
The mention of the oil pumps, don’t you won’t high volume over high pressure? Just asking for education purposes, as I know a friend of mine had put a Mellings(?) high volume oil pump due to it being the most recommended for his 05.

Yep, you're right the Mellings are the ones they put into their rebuilt engines.
We don't run dogs anymore just still hunt here. I appreciate the tip on powertrain, the truck is solid enough to keep running it if the engine does give trouble so I will probably do a long block if it fails. I can do the work myself so that helps with the cost. I bought a USB OBD2 adaptor so I can use forscan software so I am going to see what the computer says about this mileage. I have to do a little IAC troubleshooting with it also. It idles a little high and on a cold start it jumps to 1800rpm for the first sec or 2. I have checked all the vacuum lines but right now it can still be anything, may be a TPS or a throttle body issue. Thanks again on the tip
