3.0 Diesel Variable Valve Timing
I have a 2018 with the diesel and it's in the shop for a nasty rattle at startup. They are saying the noise is coming from the cam phasers and that they need to be replaced. I see no reference to this engine having variable valve timing and don't see any cam phasers in the diagram of the valve train. Does anyone here know?

You might be better off posting this in the 3.0 diesel page. I also have a 3.0 so I will be watching. I don't have the rattle but I'm only at 21K miles. I wish you luck and hope it is a small problem. You could get in touch with a moderator and have them push this over to the diesel 3.0 page.
