Question 2018 Mirror Fix - STX

I noticed the other day that my right side mirror only adjusts in and out and not up and down. Does anyone know if there are any serviceable parts inside these mirrors? It only has power adjustment with no extras on it.

The STX trucks also have heated side mirrors if equipped with rear defrost and most were. The mirrors are easily damaged by manual adjustment, including car washes. There is no replacement parts readily available. When replacing this mirror you must look underneath it and verify if it has the temp sensor. Trucks made after February 12th 2018 have the sensor. You will need a mirror that also has the sensor or you will set error codes.

I have the rear window defroster but not defrost on the mirrors. Is that something I can add with just installing new mirrors? My previous truck had that and found it very useful.

If you have rear defrost then you have heated mirrors. The dash switch for rear defrost also activates the mirrors. The mirrors are no longer marked with the heated symbol like years prior.

Really? After 3 years I've never noticed the mirrors defrosting or defogging when doing the same for the back window.

The STX Appearance Package mentions the rear window defroster being included but I see nothing on the mirrors being the defrosting type. The XL Power Equipment Group includes the manual folding, power glass, black mirrors but the same thing with heated mirrors with the turn signals was optional.

My STX has rear defrost and didn’t have heated mirrors. Found heated mirrors on marketplace and it was a plug and play deal.

I'll see whats up with the mirror today. Truck is at dealership now and they said it was covered under warranty. Dont know if its just parts or getting a full replacement.

Long story short is that the dealer replaced the motor inside the mirror and it was covered under warranty. It works fine now.
