Got Options?
Got Options?
One of the companies I work for has ordered a Lightening for me to replace my 2006 F350 tool truck. I'm going to do some very serious downgrading in tools and try to make this work. Weight capacity will of course be the great issue. One item of major frustration for me has been the lack of specific information regarding accessories. Two of the local dealerships seem to be completely out of the information loop when I ask simple questions about what I can mount on the truck, or equip the truck with. Like me, they end up going on line and reading the public information with little to no success.
So, I'll post my questions here and see what the "inside scoop" might be.
1. Does this truck have a 12vdc system that will run a Warn winch if front mounted?
2. Can I even mount a front bumper/winch/brush guard system with all the road sensors that are intergraded into the navigation system?
3. Is there a backup or reserve energy storage system that can get me out of the woods as a last resort?
4. Is the truck equipped with a regenerative system that will help charge the battery when going down hill?
5. Is the truck layout the same as previous model years for fitting bed tool boxes and cab tool boxes in the rear seat area?
6. Battery life, and replacement cost. It's great to save money at the gas station, but not if you're looking at a "balloon payment" in four years that exceeds what you would have spent on fuel.
Sorry for the list, but any insight before I get the vehicle in hand would be appreciated.

Egad! And I thought my company had issues with communication. Sit and wait to see what has already been done I guess.
