Making door panels
Thanks to Himmelberg.
There is a guy here that recovers dash pads and it looks factory when he is done. He isn't buying covers and gluing them on so I assume he is forming them over the old carcass. I have seen some large Dodge dashes he did and the quality was great. If I formed a metal piece and then foamed it I would think he could cover it just like a dash. I know the width would not be a problem and some dashes are fairly tall top to bottom. I wouldn't want to do this on the door panels but the rear cab cover would be a good candate. What do you think. It would be more durable than fabric and very easy to keep clean. You would never have to worry about it sagging or having the glue breakdown. I also thought about cutting a donor dash down and making a dash pad. Any thoughts.
On the door panels I'm not sure which way I would like to proceed. Plastic and wood seem fairly straight forward. Fenders I could not find your flamed panels but sure would like to see them.
Rod Doors..............hmmm...... I'm sorry I could not in good conscience put panels in my Ford that has a name like "The Camerino" Way to close to CAMERO YUK YUK YUK LOL Actually they are not quite my style as if I have a style. There were some that were more straight lined that I liked and that is what I will try to make.
OK lets here what y'all think of the dash covering method for the rear of the cab.
