I’ve had this happen to me twice and I can’t quite figure out what’s going on.
Truck fired right up and we drove it across town to run errands. Shut it off for less than 5min, hopped back in and she wouldn’t start. No turnover, clicks, nothing.
I had my iPhone plugged into the second cigarette lighter both times this has happened.
Ran through all the fuses thinking I blew one somewhere but they were all fine. I was able to jumpstart it with some cables and got her home. Shut it off and tried to restart it on the spot…nothing.
I notice the instrument needles start shaking at random times and will stop when I put my foot on the brake.
Any ideas?
Here are a couple of videos:

Test the batteries. Jump it to get it running and test the alternator to make sure its charging.
Thanks, I was able to jump it this morning to get it moved to the driveway. Leads me to believe the alternator is going bad. I don’t have a multimeter to properly test it.
If she is indeed bad, is it worthwhile to upgrade to a larger amperage version? If so, what’s the recommended upgrade?
Some aftermarket USB charging devices emit an electrical interference that can cause strange issues. If this problem ONLY exists with the USB charger plugged in, throw it in the garbage (especially if it's a non-brand name charger).

Thanks - I threw the charger out and trying to troubleshoot the issue now. Battery test came back fine so I took the alternator off and had it tested at a local shop. Alternator is fine so I'm a bit stumped at what to try next. Any ideas?
If it always starts when you jump start it the only thing happening is the source of the starting voltage is different from your present battery - so it must be something connected to your current battery - I assume you have cleaned all the terminals - I suspect your battery - have you tested your battery when you can't start the truck with a load tester to see what condition it is in at that time
Yep, cleaned the terminals and tested the battery. Everything checks out. The van has started up every time since I re-installed the alternator and I can't replicate the issue. I had a neighbor suggest it might be the starter...
