I tried to start my 04/04 Lariat PSD this morning and no go. Temp about 70 F, moderate humidity. She cranks and cranks and occassionally "bumps", but won't start.
I drained the HFCM yesterday afternoon and ran it for a couple of minutes afterwards with no problems. Now....kaput.
could be the fuel pump. crack the lines open and spin her over and see if fuel is coming out. The lines you wanna break loose are at each head (banjo type) but i dunno if you can get to them in the Ford.
The problem turned out to be a chafed wire from the FICM. This kind of problem is really stupid. Because Ford or International did not spend 10 cents for a wire guide, they had to pay $205 in warranty work.
OTOH, I just found out that my diesel technician is the publisher of www.6literpowerstroke.com. 8-))
