Good point. I checked the window stickers for the 3 trucks on the tracking spreadsheet that are in transit and have adaptive steering as an option.

They are all King Ranch, all show the $1000 charge on the window sticker and there appear to be no discounts related to AS.

just got this same call from my dealer. if i opt to remove adaptive steering, then truck has a good chance of being built. if i opt to keep it, he said truck most likely will not get built. since reading this thread, gonna delete it. i just was not sure about it since i've read and seen so many good things about this option.

It's the same thing that's been posted on BOF. Just says that Limited, Plat and Lariat with AFS will not be scheduled. If you want that ugly (imo) king ranch interior you can still get it currently until Ford runs out of those brown steering wheels.

I removed AFS from my order as well.

sale manager simply called me. after reading some here and elsewhere i simply called him back to tell him delete the option. then he sent me a revised order sheet to sign.

Yeah black leather vs brown leather on the king ranch.

Seems like the steering wheel wouldn't be the part to hold it up but.... shrug.

The steering wheel looks the same but is different internally where the motor is located that varies the steering ratio.

I do not think this is a new thing. Some manufacturers have been decontenting different builds to reduce the chips needed in their vehicles for some time. I know that dreaded stop/start in F150 have been eliminated. But this article dated July does mention the AS. And others here in the threads have been talking about it and eliminating it from their builds in order to get them built.

My 450 KR with AS was delivered Friday. I’ll pick it up this Saturday…. Hope I like the interior lol…. Anyway, as late as two weeks ago they were still putting AS in the King Ranch trim.
