Better yet - "They walked away". We rented a Ford Explorer later that day, transferred everything from Stinky to the Explorer, then completed our drive home... arriving much later than planned - but arrived.

When looking at your destroyed truck (Stinky) with Cody I told him that the front Ford emblem on my truck was from Stinky. We both thought that was kind of cool how my truck has a part of your old truck and they were sitting just feet apart from each other 2000 miles from my home.
More of a "bend the knee" in a show of gratitude for keeping you and your wife safe. Also allowing Stinky to live on in spirit on the front of our truck. Also, Cody said he uses the parts from Stinky for other projects and work, so there are parts of Stinky roaming this entire great nation we are blessed to live in.
The "transplanted" Ford emblem is securely mounted to the front of my Ranch Hand and proudly leads the charge when traveling the country.

C'mon man, don't you get the Subaru commercial reference?

Commercial? Was this on radio, print, or TV? I cut the cord in 2010, I listen to Sirius XM, and I read news on the interweb. I have minimized the commercials I see/hear/read for years - I'm out of touch with that aspect of our culture. Do you have a link to it?

I feel like for several years now whenever I pack for a trip I have a mostly mental list of all the things I want to bring with me, and then eventually once the trip gets underway all the things that got missed get remembered. If it's a small list - ya did well! At least you can make due without most of that on the boat.
Good to see some folks getting some enjoyment in this incredible pocket of the world. The PNW really is (has been, at least) the place to be. Climate change is making a lot of people in BC question a lot of their choices now though, with how hard we're continually being hit by unprecedented awful wildfire seasons year after year. After all that record weather, all the days where it's not at least above the mid-90's don't seem hot any more! It might be a couple of months before the first snow hits here, though. October 12th last year, and I had some stray flakes falling on a sun and clouds afternoon in May!
You ever get your barge up to this end of the Columbia near the mouth you can give me a shout. If you can stand the bugs, that is...

I yam so confused. Up... near the mouth... BC. When I think mouth, I think Oregon/Washington border on the wet side (SW of me). Mouth of the Columbia into Roosevelt, by Northport? Going off memory... near Trail?
