Wondering a good brand/place to get some quality u-bolts for the rear axle on a '99 F350 SD? Previous owner worked up some kind of absurd overload spring homebrew that doesn't even allow the nuts to fully thread on to the bolts:
This crap has got to go and I'll likely need to cut it off, so new u-bolts will be needed.
You might get lucky and have those half threaded nuts come off for you. You're going to need a length on them so getting at least one off intact would help with that if you are going to keep the rest of the setup.

I've already tried with PB Blaster, a hammer, and a mid torque impact. No dice. Could try heat but even if I could get the nuts off the threads on the u-bolts are very rusted. Wouldn't want to use them again.

Let some Hilco lube puddle up in those nuts over night and they will come right off... unless you are looking for a reason to break out the grinder/ torch
Let PB Blaster sit in them a couple days and didn't seem to help (maybe this other stuff is better?). But there is a Milwaukee M12 die grinder with a cutoff wheel in the toolbox that needs to justify its existence...
Do the ubolt plates tend to rust out? Is it alright just repainting them? Looks like they'd hold a lot of water.
I have the PMF 3/4 u bolts on my truck they seem to be good quality it’s my second set since they are one time use. Someone a while back had theirs made at a tractor trailer shop really cheap. Could be with calling around the axle is going to be a standard width easily replicated with the right tools.
