I bought a 2015 F350 and it had spent some time in the Carolinas and appears to have experience road salts. I read that oil is the way to go in preventing corrosion on the undercarriage. That it will permeate rust and slow it down, is great. I guess the bad side is that you have to do it annually, and dirt must stick to it. Plus you have to go to northern climates to find somebody doing it.
Fluid film, Crown, Waxoyl, Cosmoline, No-Ox, all easily obtained and applied at home. No-ox and Cosmoline last the longest (3-4 years) and of course are the messiest, then waxoyl (1x a year), fluid film (here is before and after salt / winter season) and dead last is Crown (3-4 rain storms and its about washed away). I used to do No-OX for 275/truck but people flock to the 129 specials of crown and rust check. No reason to offer to do it and mess up a bay floor for 2 or 3 vehicles a year.
Not to mention that Fluid Film is more ecologically acceptable.
While there may be guys around here that spray old motor oil under their trucks, I've heard of it before, I have Carwell do my vehicles once a year. Here's the product page:

There's guys around here who spray it as a side business and guys I know who use it. There's also BLACK Fluid Film available now also.
Look's like a good product too. Too bad they don't have a facility in my neck of the woods. I would much rather have someone apply some protection fluid instead of me.
