Radiator
Radiator
Good day to all! I have a 1986 Ford F800 with a bucket and boom on it. I think it is an old retired CL+P truck. The radiator is totally restricted, so it over heats. I took the rad. out and had it boiled out. They boiled it 5 times to descale it enough to get enough flow through it. Problem is, now the core is weak, and has many leaks. A recore is too expensive($1k min) so I'm looking to see if there are any used rads out there. This unit is used on our Lion's club Fairgrounds for light maintenance.
Any help is appreciated

Big truck, big expense.

Does the Lion' Club value the services provided by the truck?

We have two bucket trucks. A1986 tilt cab F800, and a 1991 F800. Both are used on the fairgrounds for out of reach overhead work. Yes, we do value the trucks, but because of their age, they require some expensive repairs. The '86 overheated because the radiator is blocked. I tried to have it boiled out, but the core is now too thin. I have to re-core or replace the radiator.
There's not such thing as a tilt cab F series, do you mean tilt hood?
If it is a tilt cab it would be a C series
The radiators in the F series trucks were used from 1980-1993, the radiator it used depended on what engine the truck had
The C series was pretty much unchanged for the 60's to the end of production in the 90's, again the radiator used was dependent on the engine the truck had
Although these trucks are getting some age on them there are a good number of them still in big truck salvage yards, but it takes phone calls or other manual searches to find them as very few big truck dismantlers advertise on the net

Thank you! I stand corrected. I thought it odd that both were designated "F" series. The '91 is definitely an F. (tilt hood). The '86 must be a C (tilt cab) This is the one I am looking for a rad, for.
There were a lot of those trucks built but product ended in 1990 so in the past 30 years salvage trucks have been picked over pretty good
The engine in the truck also determines what radiator is needed, if diesel it's probably a 3208 Cat, gas would be 429

Don’t know where you’re located but there’s one in Ga
I googled Ford C-800 radiator and half dozen came up, if one of the diesel radiators or older 391, 477, 534 radiators can be used you have a lot more options
