First Drive-$150 93 F-150

Finally got to drive it last night! Got an appointment at the SOS and was able to get a title and plates.

So far, have about $560 ($40 is gas ) into it total. Drove it around about 70 miles last night, mostly on dirt back roads. Also, did a round trip commute to work today.

After sitting the last year, somehow it's developed a power steering fluid leak. Other than that, I think it'll be ok. It has a bit of a high idle in park, probably a vacuum leak somewhere to trace down.

My 17 year old son got some seat time as well. He's excited as it's the first V8 he's ever driven.

All in all, I'm super stoked that it's finally on the road. When purchased, it had rotted spring hangers, so I replaced them, the rear springs and the rear shocks.

Really digging it. Even got a few compliments today- one from a supervisor at work and one from a dude in a new Camaro RS at the gas station. It appears everyone digs OBS trucks. LOL

Need to do some maintenance stuff to it (oil change, etc), but Chief (we named it after my high school mascot, since it's my HS colors (red and white) and it's the year I graduated) seems to be a great driver and happy to be back on the road.

Feels good to get another OBS on the road again!

Here she is in all her glory, in front of her namesake sign.

She drove great yesterday to and from work, today I came out to a dead battery so I had to drive the 2019. Boo. LOL

Got several compliments yesterday, including one from a guy in a new Camaro RS. He was really excited to see the old girl.

Nothing like driving an ol truck to make new friends!

Very Nice, I remember the first time I drove my 93 F150 5.0 5 speed 4x4, back in 99,

She doesn't look quite this good now, but pretty close, and she has a new heart 5.8,

My 17 year old son found a really neat gadget that connects Iphones to the radio via the cassette deck. I'm so excited because now I don't have to miss out on having my Sirius radio like the 2019- it will broadcast via the adapter.

Ain't technology great? LOL but the music I listen to normally (Willie's Roadhouse, usually) just sounds so RIGHT through those old speakers.
