That's a common misconception. Just because it's got a braided jacket does not mean it is higher quality.
Some kits are using hoses under rated in temperature, pressure, or undersized for the flow needed. A proper hose will have a pressure rating over 3500 psi operating, a temperature over 330°, and be at least –06 in size. The hose supplied in Dale's kit is rated 4000 psi operating pressure, 400° temperature, and is –06 in size and couplers. For $32.49 I will go with the best when dealing with my engine oil staying in the engine. You may find a cheaper kit but not a better one in my opinion.
Aeroquip AQP/HI-PAC FC-510-06 wire braided high pressure hose (16,000PSI burst pressure)
Wire loom
2) boss fittings (installed in the cylinder heads)
2) boss caps (in the event that removal is necessary)
Every crossover kit I've seen out there has a minimum burst of 16000 lbs, temperature rating of 300-400 degrees and they all include the spare boss caps, in case of a leak I guess. Makes sense too me on an aftermarket product. Especially if you should be caught out in the middle of nowhere.

Exactly. Everybody knows the physical requirements for the hoses, and not one single vendor sells a kit that is more prone to failure than anyone else's. 99% of the problems with these hoses stem from improper installation of the hose ends, overtorque of the fittings, or abrasions in the engine compartment (braided hose are more prone to fail in this regard as the braids provide the structural integrity of the hose).
I don't have a problem with Dale I., nor do I find fault in his products or prices. If you like his stuff great, not a thing wrong with it.
In case you were curious, on aircraft engines braided lines are used low pressure applications almost exclusively.
Eaton/Areroquip is one of the largest makers of some of the best products in the world, I am pretty sure that the product that they supply for this mod is as good as it gets. If what I read on the various PSD sites is true 16000 psi is little more than 5 times the max operating pressure that the hose will ever see. As to being builders of low pressure hose, I know that they do aerospace plumbing as well and some of that is the most demanding applications in the world. Ever see the braided hose that connects the shuttle turbo pumps to the engines, about 6" in diameter, remember that the pump can empty a typical residential swimming pool in seconds, must be some serious pressure in that hose.
