I live in a neighborhood of smallish homes and small lots. I have a 21' truck and a 16' driveway. The garage isn't any longer and it won't clear the door even if it was. Fortunately the neighborhood has extra parking in back of my house directly behind where my truck sits in this picture. Technically the HOA covenants say we aren't supposed to use it but so far nobody complains and there are people using the extra parking in the other part of my neighborhood too.

Haha, well, you will find out soon enough if it is a problem. Most HOA's are on top of that stuff. The garage and driveway at my house are also too short, no hoa but if I were to park in the driveway it would partially block the sidewalk. Although I see some doing it(the PD ignores a lot)it is illegal, so my truck gets the street.

I had an F150 parked out back a few years ago and others park on the other side of the neighborhood so it isn't likely anyone will complain. Also, I bring my camper in when I load it and unload it and most of my neighbors think its neat so they aren't likely to complain. Don't know what I will do if anyone does though, because I'm not getting rid of it.
I haven't tried that yet, but don't think it will fit that way either. Plus I would have to move it so my wife could get out of the garage everyday and I don't want to do that. But may have to if it comes down to it.
Hard to believe but my must haves when we bought this house was a full size lot with a side entry garage, put in a driveway extension into the back yard and a 12' gate. Inside of the house, not so critical.
So many city properties have insufficient parking. Garage too small, parking pad too small, no street parking, it's an ongoing problem for lots of people. I'm happy enough to have room on the street.

I agree. The square footage of my garage (1900) attached to the house is more than the house (1700). Not by much but enough to make the balance near perfect. I could use more garage space.

Very true, that is how it is in these parts. Most of the residential neighborhoods were built 60+ years ago, small lots and small sq.ft. homes. Along with that, small driveways and small garages(20' deep).
And to make things worse, the state is now requiring cities to allow garage conversions and ADU's to be built without any consideration for parking. I only see that making things worse.
In my case the house came 14 years before the truck, so the truck has to fit where it can, the street.
You’re not pulled all the way up to the garage door in that pic. Looks to me like you easily have room to get the rear wheels up to or maybe even up the curb.
