T-case Floor Cutout

Is the cutout for the T-case shifter in all cabs or only just the 4x4 models? I want to convert over to 4x4 and wondering if I will need to do some cutting on the body.

No. It is not in all cabs. I am not sure if the transmission made a difference meaning if you had a manual transmission there would be a hole for the transfer case because of the different tunnel cover.

Ok. Mine is an automatic. Sounds like I will have to cut some sheet metal to make it work if I go that route vs an electric shift t-case.

My '96 had no cutout for trans or t-case. Came as an electric t-case 4x4 with E4OD. There's a stamped outline though, so pretty straightforward to figure out.

We just cut out the floor on a '94 2 wheel drive cab yesterday for this. You can distinctly see the outline where the shifter hole should be for the t-case. We cut it out with a plasma cutter.

Thank you for the information. Sounds very doable. Now I just need some hardware from a donor.

My 1990 2wd had the cut out. There was a plate being held in with 4 screws and some silicon.

What transfer case shifter are you using? On my ‘87 Bronco the transfer case shifter is centered on the top of the cover.

Here's a pic of where the hole is; posted on oilburners. Waiting for him to send some dimensions.

Is that for an 87? I’ve seen earlier trucks had the Tcase shifter in the tunnel cover.

pictures here are for a 96

Yes, it's for an '87. Transfer case shifter is in the same spot as the pics you posted. Thanks

That’s why I asked what shifter is being used. This is where my ‘87 Bronco transfer case shift is located.

Picture of an ‘87 with manual transmission. Transfer case shifter is still on top of the hump.
