I cant for the life of me figure out what this line goes to, Fuel return?
The Red circle
for your 87 f250(no I’m not steve83) you may have a hard line for various things. Got dual tanks? Original engine? Emissions level? Fuel vapor, fuel return, a custom line for cooling… uh… not sure I guess. Maybe a part of the rear has coolant feed to it and that returns to the radiator or it’s pipes? Crew cab? Do those have rear heater stuffs. AMBULANCE? Idk. Maybe a cooler loop for so,etching I can’t figure out yet
I would leave it to vent to atmo or hook back to stock if emissions are a concern. Unsure how plugging it would make the fuel tanks pressurized or not.
No. There is no reason not to reconnect the charcoal canister.

I needs to be hooked up the way it was. Leaving it open will allow fuel vapors to vent into the engine compartment so the truck will smell like gas.
Why would you want to bypass or cap it in the first place? It literally has zero effect on engine performance. Capping it will cause pressure buildup in the tanks, that is going to make it difficult to fill. Leaving it venting to atmosphere is just lazy, potentially environmentally irresponsible, and will make the engine bay smell like fuel constantly.
Containing fuel vapors so they don’t vent into the atmosphere has absolutely nothing to do with recirculating exhaust gas back into the combustion chamber to reduce emissions.
