Front spindle question

I'm super new to everything having to do with restoring/fixing anything automotive. I just bought a 1973 F-100 and am replacing the whole braking system (disc/drum). Watched lots of YouTube and read lots of forums and feel pretty confident in what I'm doing (so far at least). In taking apart my front disk setup and cleaning what appears to be decades of oil and dirt off the front spindles I noticed what appear to be bleeder valves on the spindle connection - both top and bottom. Can you guys help me understand what those are for and if I should do any maintenance there while I have it all apart? I'm assuming its grease of some sort, but don't want to do something stupid. The truck sat for a long time before I bought it. Thanks!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the quick responses. I've almost spent as much on parts and tools as I have the truck at this point! I'm sure I'll be back for other things I can't even figure out how to Google.

Facebook Marketplace and craigslist are good places to find used tools. I needed some bearings removed and pressed and I didn't have a press and the shop I went charged me $75. I found an A frame 6 ton press on Marketplace for $40 compared to $79 new at Harbor Freight. It paid for itself and then some by pressing out/in my own bearings.
