A bit off topic, but when I re-powered my airboat I ordered a 383 Stroker not a 6.2 up from a 350CI not a 5.7. And when I ordered my F250 with the 7.3, first thing I did was figure out the CI to 446 CI.

The guy that discovered X-ray meant to use the term X-ray until he learned more about it, and then replace the "X" with something more descriptive. He died of radiation exposure before coming up with a real name.
The Camaro "Z-28" is a package designator, they never came up with a marketing name for the package and left it as Z-28
The Ford "Taurus" was a project name, given to the project by the lead designers who's wives shared the Taurus astrological sign. Marketing never came up with something better. Taurus stuck.
Same with Bluetooth. Project name that stuck.
The Ford engineers picked a trademarked name for their 7.3 project, "Godzilla" so I suspect we'll be "stuck" with 7.3 since Ford marketing can't use Godzilla and won't even put a decent badge on it.

So 7.3 it is.

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” - Isaac Asimov

Science and Engineering get done in metric system for one really good reason. It is so much better and much simpler.
