Snow plow prep package ride quality?

Long story short, I found an in stock 2021 F350 close enough to what I ordered for a 2022 model. However it has the snow plow prep and 5th wheel prep package both (neither of which I want/need). Will that make a noticeable difference in ride quality vs without them?

It's too subjective, do yourself a favor and drive both and decide for yourself if you can find them. You likely won't be able to come to a conclusion based on feedback. I have a 17' 6.2 with the plow prep. I think it's fine, I changed the fronts to fox when I leveled it 2" and it was noticeably a better ride.

No matter what truck I go with, I'll definitely swap out the stock shocks for some bilsteins or fox shocks

I always get snowplow/camper. I can't tell a difference. 21 Fords since '05 when the coils came out. 450s too.

And I always get Bilsteins.

Which Bilsteins do you go with?

5100

Have tried the remote Reservoir 5150, but all four sets leaked and they only have 30 day warranty.

I have the snow plow/camper prep and I think the ride quality is just fine. Comparing it to my dad's 2014 F250 CCSB the new truck rides much better. The new truck feels planted to the ground but not as bouncy...
I test drove a Tremor and in my opinion it rode a bit worse than my truck.

It depends on what engine.
The extra weight of the diesel makes a major difference.
I have both a 2500HD and a 2020 SP Limited. The Ford rides heads and tails better. The GMC is a gasser. The Ford has the 1,100 lb diesel.

Its a 6000 lb front spring and I have it on my truck. That said what you call a rough ride I call smooth and vice versa. I have had an F 350 without the snowplow package and it rides beautifully, my F 450 not so much but not so much it bothers me but my frame of reference is a lifetime of driving Jeeps and Corvettes, I have NEVER owned a sedan in my life, 26 years in the Infantry, SOFT, I do not do soft, bounce around on a John Deere all day, soft, NOT!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and gonna guess if you are asking the question, you prob won't like the ride the 6000 lb springs give you.

Mine has those packages, too. Like you I would not have ordered them but finding a truck that a dealer would actually sell me was too good to pass up.

As to the ride quality? It's bumpier than our Expedition but neither of us mind it. Well see how long that lasts as we won't drive it much compared to the cars and my wife will be the first to complain.

My wife an I have back problems, yet we own a 21 f350 4x4 with the snow plow/camper package. We love the ride. 9000 miles of trips so far and she can't wait to jump in it. Between us with have 5 crushed discs, arthritis and a hip issue. So if your better off then we are health wise, you will be just fine.

I want/need both of those packages! Probably a crew cab though which I do not want or need. Good luck with your choice. The recent threads on front springs suggest the ride really doesn't get worse, certainly not unbearable. It wouldn't stop me from ending the undetermined wait times we are looking at.

I have the snowplow/camper package on my '21 F350 SCLB. Its a firm ride, but not overly stiff. Our 03 F350 had S code front springs (very soft), so that seems to ride a little nicer than my '21. The '21 rides far better than my '89 F350 though.

I replaced the stock FX4 shocks with Bilstein 5100s. Made the ride noticeably better.

I have a ‘21 250 with plow prep. Was good stock and I just recently changed all 4 shocks out for Fox and it’s been even better.

to me the Fox shocks have paired well with my plow springs.
