key fob reprogramming

I just picked up a new / used key fob with matching identical numbers to my existing original but I can't get it to work. I've followed the videos, turning the key on and off 5, 6, 7 and times but it still will not function. I've also replaced the batteries but still no go. Any suggestions on a work around. It's not the end of the road if I can't get it to work. It would just be nice to have the second key fob for opening the doors. Thanks.

I had the same problem and I took it down to a car audio shop and the guy literally did the programming for me in about 30 seconds. If you got one near by maybe they will do it for free? Just an idea before you drive yourself crazy.

Do you have the factory RKE module? You can jump the two pins in the gray connector to put it into programming mode. Do a search for that method, it worked well for me.
