Got my 91 f150, and for some reason, the brakefluid decided to get really gay and go out though the drum.
The line is fine.
but when i went to take the drum off (left rear) the drum is stuck on. It's only stuck in one spot.
Kinda curious what would cause all the fluid to pour out of here.
THe crappy part is i'm injured, so its hard for me to work, and i dont have a vehicle to go get parts with.
I have front bakes still *phew* cause i think it started this while i was driveing.
I'm sure i can get the drum off, though I already damaged it a lil with a big hammer. Not in a critical spot though.
so what could this stupid thing be?
and how much am i lookin to spend on parts here?
Leaking brake fluid from behind the drum, without it coming from the line is a wheel cylinder. Very simple to replace, as far as the drum being stuck on, did you turn the adjuster all the way in to the shoes are not pressing out against the drum? Wheel cylinders are cheap to, maybe 20 bucks. The brake fluid isn't being gay either the seal went bad inside of the wheel cylinder.
