what exactly does a cold air intake do?
I hear that Ram Air, unlike Cold Air, actually gives you some HP because it's acting a natural supercharger. The only problem with it is the fact that you got to be at a pretty high speed for the Ram Air to actually start working, but never the less it's still drawing in cool air from the Ram Air scoops rather than breathing in its own hot air.
In my opinion, the Ram Air system is much better than the Cold Air system. It gives a good appearance and good performance gains, heck some of them even lighten up your truck by replacing the stock steel hood with a fiberglass one. It's just too bad that average guys like me can't really afford that type of aftermarket accessory. Your looking a new hood, the Ram Air kit, and a paint job for the hood, all together that can set you back between $700 to $1,000. Ouch
