Truck not recognizing trailer

2017 SCREW EB. Everything has been fine for months. All of a sudden I blow fuse #36 and the trailer doesn't show on the dash as hooked up. Replaced the fuse ans it's the same. I have brake and turn signal lights, but no taillights. But, when I turn the truck off and open the doors, the thing lights up like christmas. Any ideas?

It seems like you either have a wiring problem in the trailer or the truck. If you have access to another trailer, I would hook that up to see if it changes the symptoms. You could have an electronic problem in the truck as well, which would be much harder to diagnose.

If you blew a fuse you have a short somewhere in the electrical system. It is easy enough to determine if it is the truck or trailer by, as suggested above, hooking up to a different (but similar) trailer. If everything works on the new trailer, then the issue is in the trailer. If the issue is still present with the new trailer, then it is truck side. Hopefully it is a short on the trailer side.
