Do rear sway bars add much to handling or not? I read that the factory sway bar could be had for about $120.00 but no one seems to have one, and the Hellwigs are a whole lot more expensive . I have also read the the Hellwigs are no better than OEM.
The factory rear stabilizer bar is included in the optional camper package for the F-250 and F-350 SRW trucks. I have no doubt it improves handling when carrying a truck camper.
I can’t say if the Hellwig offerings are better than the OEM option. Follow the link below to a related discussion.
I looked at pricing for the stock bar. My truck is a Platinum so I needed all the specific bolts etc also. When pricing out the stock complete package vs the Hellwig BigWig there wasn't that big of a difference in price. I went Hellwig and it is a beefy bar.
Hellwig in the rear of mine as well as it didn't have one when I purchased. Replaced the original factory front swaybar with another Hellwig and it made a noticeable difference.
Interestingcomments and I have to scratch my head a little when I read how the OEM sway bar works great and there is no difference between it and and larger diameter Hellwig and then read just the opposite from others.
I can't give the OP a definitive answer other than to say my last two trucks have had the camper package and the stock sway bar has worked just fine. If my truck did not have a sway bar at all, I might opt for the Hellwig simply due to the perception that because it is bigger, it must be better. However, I would see no need in changing out the stock sway bar.

Might have to do with each individuals application. For my application it was money well spent. 2018 F350 6.7 Lariat SCLB SRW with a Lance 1030.
My personal experience has been that the BigWig provides much more control than the OEM one did. They were on different trucks but both were SRW F350's so very similar. This was with the same truck camper but different trucks.
I would also throw out there that the perception of sway is going to be an 'in your seat' thing too. What's perceived by one as ridiculous sway may be not bad to another. Depends on what one is use to/ feels comfortable with.
And "bigger is better" only applies to somethings......... metal rod ain't necessarily one of them.
