SYNC 3 1.0 to 2.2
Hi! New Ford owner here. I have an F150 with SYNC 3, non Nav running 1.0. I bought the truck pre-owned and looks like the previous owner didn't update to 2.2
I've read a lot of forums trying to find the 2.2 update and all the links aren't working anymore. Is it possible to go from 1.0 to 2.2 via USB or do I need to go to the dealer? I've tried 1.0 to the version Ford recommended on their site but it doesn't work.

I have a 2016 and this is the most current update for SYNC 3 equipped 2016 & 2017 F150’s that was officially released from Ford.
No, you don’t have to go to a dealer and the version I listed should be much easier to find that the one you’re looking for because it’s probably not even supported anymore.
Also, since you have a 2016 and if you’re an iPhone user, you will have to change out the USB module to use Apple CarPlay.
No worries though……it an inexpensive part that takes less than 5-10 minutes to swap out.
