I hope you all had a great 4th of July! I need your help please. I have a 1962 F100 Wrong bed and have been working on a steering Column issue for my horn for some time. Each time i think i got the horn resolved it loses contact. I think i finally found the culprit on the steering column. It is the rubber Sleeve that the bracket goes around. Does anyone run into this and do you have a solution you could recommend? i am hoping to be able to find the replacement sleeve so i can hold the column in place and it wont move so I can ensure the connection to the horn mechanism. Any assistance would be awesome. I have my shop manual but it does not call out a part number either so i cant search for the part.
Thank you VERY much TA455HO! I really appreciate the quick response! I am hoping that will keep the column in the right position. If I have to make a hard turn (no power) the column seems to slip just enough to lose contact. I added a washer on the backside of the bolt leading thru the bracket to help it crank down on the sleeve so my guess is the sleeve has lost its way after 60 years . Welcome any recommendations! Thank you again!
