they cost more but I love them anywhere it is a pain to change a hose because a clamp cut it.

i think for 11-16 you just plug up the return line fitting .
Thanks for the link. That website name sounds familiar. I believe I came across this but didn't look any further because it was for a 17 plus 6.7.

Appreciate all that info you posted but I'm sticking with the 4 micron factory filter because I'll still have my DFCM primary pump because once the Air Dog is installed, it'll feed the DFCM with a 2 micron filter. But I'll run the 10 micron filter on the Air Dog in the winter.

At least you posted it up for the forum.

ALSO, my hose piping off problem could also be because I have the return hose in wrong…it should point down. I’m going to move it when the barb fittings come in.
Were your factory hoses not long enough for the lines to go on the left of the housing like in the pic on the website?

Okay so I emboldened where you refer to "S&S" When I see S&S, I think of S&S Diesel Motorsports.

https://ssdiesel.com/

They made the first DPK kit on market. And they make the 2nd gen version with the Parker Racor SNAPP filter setup. I just did a big order from dieselfiltersonline.com AND FORGOT TO ORDER A FREAKING 10 MICRON AIRDOG FUEL FILTER!!!! Oh well.

The engine compartment factory filter for the HPFP is rated at 4 microns from I've seen. If I'm wrong, I'll get corrected...

Go for it...

What's on the end of the 1/4 inch return hose? Where does it go to?

Thanks for that info. Are those a fuel line clamp, just a different style?

goals are

s&S kit = reduce the cost of engine bay fuel filters, eliminate the small fitting breakage problem, improve the stock 5 micron filter to 4 microns, provide a manifold for extra NPT accesory ports.

CAT kit = reduce the cost of engine bay fuel filters, eliminate the small fitting breakage problem, improve the stock 5 micron filter to 2 microns, provide a manifold for extra NPT accesory ports.

if I were to do all over again, I would go with the S&S kit...and...if you wanted to run 2 microns during warm months, get a CAT filter eliment. but be advised S&S does not recommend using 2 micron filters.

I flipped the hose fitting so the hose comes up from the bottom instead of down from the top.

also noted my barb fittings only has three barbs on it and the barbs are not one way barbs.

I have a 5 barb fitting arriving webs a d maybe I will be able to get two clamps on it.

I also orders some 1/4 soft injector clamps which I think will not bite into the hose.

more to come.

Ahh I see thank you. No spaces on the band to cause indentations or cut into the hose.

I got an email back from the kit distributor. they indicated 1 other case of the hose poping off and attribute it to possible hose outside diameter variations. the distributor said the other case used a new barb fitting with 1 way teeth and the problem was resolved. sounds like they kept the same funky clamp.

I have one way teeth fittings with longer barbs on order, some 1/4 injection hose clamps, so once they get installed should be fine. couldnt find the high pressure clamps mentioned in earlier post but the 1/4 fuel injection clamps look simular.

if it pops off again once I replace the barb fitting....im going back to stock in the engine bay and moving the 2 micron filter to the underside and put it in front of the AFE lift pump I have coming in.

I think with hose barbs and the fuel injection clamps, you should be good...

Did you get a micron rating for the AFE filters? I thought I heard 1 micron, if they even make them....

Other options

https://www.rpidiesel.com/collection...conversion-kit

This H&S kit has the rubber hose and a new steel nozzle that won't break for the 17 plus guys I would assume who have that 3rd fitting like fritz does. 11 to 16 guys wouldn't need it. Just cap the two side ports off.

I gotta say if I went with a filter replacement set, I like the H&S filter head set up and hose better than fritz's.

then there's Smeding Diesel's set up but I can't see a hose for the 17 plus trucks.

https://www.rpidiesel.com/collection...conversion-kit

Here's fritz's setup from the site who makes the kit.

https://blackmarketperformance.com/c...el-bowl-delete

Hey fritz did it come with the hose? It just lists the return fitting on the list of contents.

Includes BIllet BMP Filter Head; Relocation Mounting Bracket ;2 Billet Quick Connects; Return Line Fitting; Cat Fuel Filter; Mounting Hardware

I decided to roll this back to stick with an i
proved 1 way fitting and a micro clamp. I trimmed the clamp handles so the fitting guard will fit.

explanation to follow

What I learned about the oem fuel filter junction is that the return is connected to the cp4 chasis, the injector return, the fuel filter, and goes back to the tank.

the problem I have is the oem return line is a 50 psi rated line.

I don’t know exactly what the pressure is in the line…but…with a stock setup the psi after the filter is mid 50’s. With this 2 micron filter, the psi is mid 60’s..

I did find a longer barb fitting and received it today.

what I couldn’t find was a 75 psi 3/16th fuel line.

so I decided to roll this back.

ny plan now is to use this 2 micron filter under the cab next to the chasis mounted lift pump I am waiting on.

it would be an easy add on, and I can drop the return fitting and make the filter pass thru.

this would keep the pressures in the engine bay normal.
