Sync 3 and Waze

Sync 3 and Waze
I reached out to Waze but they didn’t help. I have sync 3 and have been able to open Waze on my phone and plug into the USB port and have Waze on the truck screen but last week it doesn’t show up anymore. If I plug the phone into the usb it will say f250 connected to Waze but it never comes up on the truck screen. Not even a Waze option and the phone has regular screen vs the sdl screen when it worked. Any ideas? iPhone 6.

With that being said, Waze via SYNC 3 is awful and antiquated.
One has to actually have the app open on the iPhone to use it with SYNC 3 and that basically makes the iPhone useless.
Any reason why you don’t want to use Apple CarPlay instead?
Waze works so much better this way and you’ll also retain full functionality of the iPhone.
Have you tried a Master Reset of the SYNC 3 system and if not, do you know how to do this?
Many times doing said reset will clear up issues such as the one you’re having with Waze.

Waze works fine via Apple CarPlay as well as Google Maps and several other navigation apps.
Also and unlike SYNC 3, which renders your phone useless when using any of the SYNC 3 compatible apps, your iPhone does not have to have Waze or any other Apple CarPlay compatible app engaged on the phone in order to use it on the screen in your vehicle.
