Always fires right up when cold, .. but when hot, sometimes it does, sometimes it does not..
No issues at all when running .. coolant levels stay good (even in FLORIDA Heat) less than 10 degree difference in oil and coolant temps
75 mile drive, pulling a heavy trailer, shut it off and it starts right back up
10 mile drive from moms house, no trailer shut it off to fuel up and ended up sitting at the pumps for 45 minutes.
New oil cooler
EGR delete
Rebuilt injectors
New IPR
New high volume radiator
New d gas bottle
New dummy plugs
New oil pressure sensor
Turbo rebuild
New coolant filtration system
New oil filter tower.
I am thinking about the only thing left to do is to replace the HPOP but not sure which way to go.. OEM or is there an aftermarket brand that is better.. OPEN TO OTHER SUGGESTIONS AS WELL
Don’t see any info on the batteries. How old are they? I just had a very similar situation last week in 100F+ temps. Engine Cold and cool temps in the morning…fired right up. Middle or end of the day after sitting all day…nothing. Went to the Interstate store day. One of the batteries would not pass a load test. Dead.

I would try this before going after the HPOP. Weak batteries can lead to a whole plethora of issues.
Thank you for the response: Batteries are good. When I said it does no start HOT ,, It is just after running when the engine is hot and even then only. "sometimes" , If it has been sitting for an hour or more (long enough for the engine to cool down) it will fire right up no matter what time of day it is.or what the ambient temperature is. One thing we considered only AFTER writing this post . When we make the long trips we always shut it off then try to re start right immediately (just to check) , on the short trips when it is giving us trouble it has usually been sitting for a few minutes.. IE long enough to fuel up or run into a store , but not long enough for the engine to cool down. As to the FICM it is consistently showing 47.5 to 48 on forscan but have never checked it at the moment that it is not starting.(too frustrated at the moment to think about it, always check it later). need to remember to check that. while it is in NO START mode. I think I will check the batteries anyway,, just in case
FWIW, I checked my batteries when not starting. Also tried to jump it off…nothing. My one battery only checked bad when checked with a true load test on that battery. Also, the system checked good on my OBDII tester at home.
