Is there any reason not to put an Under Hood insulation blanket on my 2017 F-150? My local dealer said they don’t have one, because the hood is aluminum and could Corrode. My 2001 F-150 has one, and the hood is Aluminum, with zero corrosion. The Ford Part Number is FL3Z-16738-A
No reason you can't add one. There are lots of aftermarket options, just make sure you get something rated for the heat. I think Hoodliner is the product from DynaMat, and is well reviewed but is the most expensive. There are other options too.
All the F150 trucks had one factory installed up until 2019.
I had a problem with the Tailgate, which they fixed. Was talking to the Body Shop Tech. He looked, sure enough it was left off. He should have it installed by now. Hopefully I can pick the truck up tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

It’s in the neighborhood of $60 according to the dealer you select. You’ll need the push in retainers also. Part # W705002-S300 $3.75 each, 6 required. You can probably find those at the local parts store cheaper.
My 2017 Lariat did not come with one.
I'm curious; why would you want one? I would think you'd want to try to keep things as cool as possible under the hood.

There's not a lot of heat loss through the hood. Insulation is to keep down noise.
I’m thinking they were out of them at the Assembly Plant, and a bunch went out the door without them. BTW I had a work van, and I couldn’t keep a bit of wax on the hood. The only thing I could figure, is it got steamed off when it rained. The hood was hot enough it would give you a nice burn.

Yah. The insulation is a sound barrier, and may protect the paint on the hood a little bit, but that is speculative on my part. I think the heat is mainly flow-through from front to back.
