Had all the drive train fluids changed. Drove it two days with many start and stops, ran awesome. Went to start last night and heard what sounded just like a baby rattle coming from underneath. Lasted 3 seconds and stopped. Not a tick or a knock but like an exhaust system rattle. Checked the exhaust for loose parts and nothing.
This kinda sh.. stresses the crap outta me
Get truck up to operating temperature then park on level ground and pull transmission dip stick while truck is still running. Verify AT fluid level is within range. On the 4R100, I believe some people have had to add a little bit of extra fluid to get rid of hard shifts.
"Add a little bit of extra fluid to get rid of hard shifts."
Are you kidding me???? This statement is ridiculous and WRONG.

Settle down there.
I'll reword it. If the AT fluid level is within the range on the dipstick, add fluid until it goes to the top end of the range/limit. Obviously do not overfill. This is just a comment with regards to people having hard shifts. I've read this numerous times with regards to the 4R100. It fixed my hard shifts. The AT level dipstick is not as precise as you'd like.
I did all's good...
definitely sounded like a skid plate or some sort of metal rattling. Trucks running great,,,Knock on wood!!
I have one more 250 in my career and the next one I'm going all out. I should be sort of retired in a few years and the next one should be my last. Unless of course tis keeps running like it does then maybe I'll be the next Faltbed Ed
