Stock Stabilizer

For everyone that has installed a dual stabilizer on their trucks, have you left the stock stabilizer on or removed it? I thought I remembered reading awhile back to remove the stock one once installing the aftermarket dual setup. What would be the benefit of leaving the stock on versus removing it?

I don't think there will be enough room to leave the stock stabilizer on and even if there was there would be no benefit in doing so.

I had read people doing it both ways, leave the stock dampener and also remove it. I installed a dual stabilizer and left the stock one. I think the stock one is unnecessary with a dual but also harmless and my reasoning to leave the stock dampener is to not void my warranty if something went bad.

I just had all of my front end joints and bushings replaced under warranty. 2018 F250 with 32k. I had a Fox single and evidently I overtightened it and the stud was not going back in. So I had them replace with the revised damper. When I got it back, the steering is harder to turn. Much tighter. In an effort to try and save the new joints, I installed a Rough Country dual kit. Nice kit for the money.
Anyway- I left the stock one on to try it. After a week I may remove the stock one. Return to center is slow. The directions said to remove it but I know several people leave them on.

I just installed mine yesterday and directions stated to leave stock one in place. Probably so that if there is any issues that a warranty claim can’t be denied because you removed factory installed equipment🤷‍♂️

Take the stock one off as it does nothing once the other stabilizer is in place. You can also get rid of that OEM drag link concoction and get a better one to finish it off.

I'm fairly certain there is no benefit to leaving the stock one on.That said,I still have mine on from when I did my Keldermann dual months ago.Mostly because it's not an annoyance and I haven't prioritized taking it off yet.You will get 50/50 on here to leave or take it off,so just use your own discretion.

On a side note if you do take off the OEM one. Some are known to pop off easily while some take a lot of effort. Mine was the latter and It took some time to get it off. Finally had to order a much larger puller to get mine out.

You can leave it. I just put a BDS dual system on both my F350’s and left the factory stabilizer on.

most people were leaving the stock one because they dont have the correct puller to get it off (its tapered stud). common jaw puller isnt correct tool but might work or pickle fork

Update on my earlier post- I removed my factory one last night and only running the Rough Country dual. Steering effort went down to what I consider normal. I like it this way better than running three. I still have some bumpsteer likely caused by the 1.6 caster the alignment shows. I had the dealer install a leveling kit when the truck was new and never had the alignment checked. Always had more bumpsteer than I thought it should have. I plan on adding some caster bushings to see if it drives better. But honestly- its not terrible the way it is now.
