When lightly pushing on the accelerator the engine is slow to react than the truck lunges forward, same thing happens when the AC compressor engages. With the AC off pushing lightly on the accelerator and then letting off the engine dies. With the transmission in reverse and backing up a very slight incline under no acceleration the engine lopes as long as the truck is moving. This problem showed itself a few months ago on occasion but last weekend I disconnected the battery cable for an hour to clean the terminal, after reconnecting the issues started all at once. Anyone know what is wrong with my truck?
I took the truck to the dealer I bought it from and they corrected a multitude of codes including a bad fuel pump but the problems persist. Where is the idle control valve and can I clean it or does throttle body need to be dissembled?
Joe,
Spark plugs and filter were replaced within the last 200 miles. I'll check the fuse and service the other items on your list where is the PCV valve?
A little while back I was having the same issues, some lunging, but especially the reversing into my slight incline laneway. Lots of low idle stalls. I unplugged the BMS connector from the negative terminal and haven't had any of these problems since.
I replaced the PC valve and put a bottle of Techron in the fuel now the truck runs much better. It hasn't died or even hesitated on take-off. I'm now running a second bottle through the fuel. Thanks for all of the inputs.
