Greetings! I have returned after a long hiatus with a "new" 1968 F250. This truck has a FE360 in it but the passenger side head exhaust manifold ears are buggered. A previous owner used a torch to remove the stuck bolts and in the process removed metal off the casting rendering them scrap.
I'm on the lookout for a rebuild-able head core and found a pair locally from '72 that may work. The casting number on my original head is C8AE-H, the heads i'm looking at are D2TEAA. Is that head compatible with my stock '68 engine?
Should be nearly identical to your old heads. D2s had hardened exhaust valve seats.
This is good to hear...
I've read that they are the same casting just with hardened seats... I'm interested in a stock application, don't need more power. I'l like to be able to swap the rocker assembly from the C8 heads over to the D2 heads after a valve job and install. My original motor is at 66k.
