Defrost default

Hey guys need some help. My 2002 EX 7.3 diesel has defaulted to the defrost mode. My EX sits a lot and I’ve been restoring it slowly. So last year it did same thing and I replaced the vacuum solenoid. That fixed it. Now it’s right back again at defrost default. Vac. Pump runs non stop. I have lock out hubs so I plugged the red line at solenoid. Still same. I unplugged black line from pump going to reservoir and put finger over fitting on pump for 5 minutes and pump never cut off. I’ve traced down all lines on engine and they are good. I’m thinking the pump may just not be pulling enough vacuum. Any ideas?

Where is the vacuum solenoid located that you replaced? Can you post a pic of it please?

Thanks

You probably have a leak. If your front hubs do not engage the seal is leaking.

it’s located on the passenger inner fender wall just behind the battery on a gasser, not sure on a diesel, but should be I a similar location.
