2.9 Surge
Friend and I swapped motors on his '89 Ranger. (Thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post19926819 )
It's running and driving well, but it has a pretty significant idle surge. Particularly at first start, it'll surge badly, you rev it a little and let it back down and it'll be a lot better. Then after time it eventually smooths out. Until the next start up. Cold/Hot it doesn't matter.
Symptoms seemed to point to the IAC, we replaced it. (Hitachi) And no change.
No vacuum leaks. Vacuum lines all appear to be hooked up correctly.
No codes
Basics are good, she's running on all six, tune up parts are new/recent. Good oil pressure. New fuel and air filters.
We're stumped at this point, any suggestions are welcome. Thank you!
