NP435 question
My cousin has an old 1966 Chevy dump truck with an NP435 that he wonders if it would be easier to get a Ford (or Dodge) NP435 and then swap out bell housings (rather than just rebuild his own transmission. The truck’s transmission grinds into second gear.

Easier to get a rebuild kit.
There are differences in the trans (input shafts, some bell to trans patterns, input bearings and bearing retainer, output shafts...) depending on what brand truck and also between light and medium duty trucks. Contact these folks, or someone like them, to get the right kit:
